Toyota has officially unveiled the new Innova facelift in the Indonesian market, which comes in two versions – Kijang Innova and Venter. The MPV is expected to hit Indian shores by next year.
ToyotaThe Japanese carmaker has revealed a facelifted version of the Innova Crysta for the Indonesian market. The new Indonesia-spec Innova now comes with an updated exterior and interiors, which looks more attractive and feature-loaded than the outgoing model. In Indonesia, the carmaker offers the MPV in two versions – Innova and Venturer, while the same model is available in India as the Innova Crysta and Innova Crysta Touring Sport. Prior to its introduction, MPV’s brochure images reveal important specifications and feature details.
Facelifted Innova MPV The Indonesian market will retail in both Kijung Innova and Sporty Venturer iterations. While the regular Kijang Innova model gets a trapezoidal chrome grille at the front, the Ventinzer iteration sports a piano black grille. In addition, the Kijang Innova is fitted with a two-ton 16-inch alloy, while the Ventizer gets larger 17-inch alloy wheels. The MPV also offers Sharp LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, fox skid plates, new fog lamps, black tailgate garnish and more. However, the taillight design of the MPV is unchanged.
On the inside, both models come with an all-black interior with subtle changes made from the dashboard with a wood-like finish. The MPV gets a 6-seater configuration with captain seats in the middle. For features, the car gets 9-inch touchscreen head unit with ambient lighting, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear-seat entertainment unit, air purifier, rear-view camera, dual airbags, curtain airbags, knee airbags, side airbags Huh. Vehicle stability control, hill start assist and more. It also comes with an integrated air purifier to improve the cabin’s air quality.
Mechanically, the Toyota Innova MPV comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 2.0-liter dual VVT-i unit that produces 137 bhp and 183.3 Nm of peak torque at 5600 rpm. The oil burner, on the other hand, is a 2.4-liter VNT unit capable of producing 148 bhp, and relies on two different torque outputs of 343 Nm and 360 Nm variants. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
